Now available - Jelly Belly Jelly Beans!

Saturday, November 18th, 2006

We are really excited to announce that we will be carrying Jelly Belly jelly beans in bulk. They are available in 50 different flavours and come in a 4 kg. / 8.8 lb. case (one flavour/colour per case). Jelly Belly beans are the perfect favour to give at weddings, baby showers, wedding showers, birthday parties, corporate events or any other occassion you can think of. Choose more than one colour and mix them together to create a colour scheme that co-ordinates with your event colours.

So far, my favourite flavour is Chocolate pudding. Although the vanilla is pretty tasty too.

Helen & Dennis’ Wine Labels

Tuesday, November 7th, 2006

Helen and Dennis asked us to create a custom wine label to afix to the wine that they were giving to their guests. They wanted a clean look that reflected their tastes. This is what we designed for them. hdwine.jpgIt was a pleasure to work with Helen and Dennis. We wish them all the best. Congratulations!helendennis.jpg

Brides On Bloor

Tuesday, November 7th, 2006

On the weekend of October 20th, I had the pleasure of participating in the Brides on Bloor event.

On the Friday evening, we attended the opening night cocktail party where we had the honour of meeting Grace Ormonde. It was inspiring to hear Grace talk about how she got started.

On Saturday, we participated in the vendor’s showcase. I really enjoyed meeting the brides, wedding professionals, and all of the talented vendors.

I was honoured to be asked to create the favours for the luncheon with Preston Bailey. Here are some photos of the tables for the luncheon. Thanks to Cynthia Martyn for putting on a great event, and sending me the photos.ksfavours2.jpgksfavours.jpg

Brides on Bloor was a great success for us. It was fun and inspiring. I can’t wait until next year!

Beautiful Invitations

I wanted to share these beautiful invitations with you. Paula asked me to customize our square Polka Dot labels to match the blue and brown colour scheme she had chosen. She then used the labels as part of her wedding invitation. The label is attached to an extra wide piece of Grosgrain ribbon. I think you will agree with me when I say that Paula’s invites are gorgeous.

I love the snowflake cutout detail on the reply envelope. I am also in love with the brown and blue colour scheme.

Congratulations Paula and Mark. Best wishes for a life full of love and happiness!

My First Post

Tuesday, November 7th, 2006

Hi everyone,

Welcome to my first post! My blog is finally up and ready for me to fill with great ideas, things I love, new ideas and anything else that I think you would like to know about. It’s very exciting to get started.

I just want to say that a huge thank you to my husband Richard. Richard designed my website, set up my blog, designed my logo, designs custom labels, designed all my postcards, business cards and any other things that I’ve decided (usually at the very last minute) need to be designed. Without Richard, Karen Smallbone.com probably wouldn’t exist and if it did it certainly wouldn’t be so beautiful. So a huge thank you goes out to my enormously talented husband who never says no. Lots of hugs and kisses too.

Another big thanks goes to my very cool sister-in-law Emma. Emma is an awesome photographer who takes all the photos for my site. She really gets how I wanted the photos to look. Emma has her own business, barebonephoto. She does weddings, portraits, products shots, etc. Check her out at www.barebonephoto.com. She is really good. Here is one of Emma’s pictures.
