Happy Holidays

Wednesday, December 20th, 2006

It’s hard to believe that it’s that time of year again. Last year at this time we had just launched karensmallbone.com. We have come a long way in a year and I’ve enjoyed every minute of it.

Without the support of my family, I could never have realized my dream of having a business doing something that I love. So, I want to send out a huge thank you to Richard, who is just too great, and to Emma who does a great job taking my photos and knowing just the look I’m going for. If you are planning a wedding you have to check her out. She took this lovely picture of the boys. Also a thank you to Aidan and Ronan, who are sometimes very “helpful” and know not to get into Mummy’s stuff for her business. Although I do find custom labels and pieces of ribbon stuck to the most unusual things.Aidan and Ronan

I want to wish everyone a Happy Holidays and say thank you everyone that I’ve had the pleasure of meeting, and creating beautiful favours for, this year. We are planning on having some special offers and fun things to celebrate our first anniversary. Check back often to see what’s up.

One thousand cupcakes

Wednesday, December 20th, 2006

Recently I did some favours for a corporate event Rogers was hosting. The favour consisted of a silver tin filled with red shred and four tiny cupcakes.

The finished favour looked great and smelled even better. I assembled 250 of these cute tins. With 4 cupcakes in each tin that works out to be 1000 cupcakes. You really don’t realize just how many cupcakes that is until you see them in person. Let me tell you 1000 cupcakes are a lot. For a few blissful days after I delivered the favours, my van smelled like cupcakes. It was great, but all I could think about was cupcakes. I ended up making some for the kids just so I could have one.

Happy 60th Anniversary Gramma and Grampa!

Friday, December 1st, 2006

This weekend we celebrated the 60th Anniversary of my grandparents George and Sarah Davey. It was very inspiring to see a couple who have been together for 60 years and are still happily married. Hopefully when Rich and I have been married for that long we will still be as happy.

Congratulations Gramma and Grampa. I hope you have many more happy years together. img_5587.jpgThis is the cake that I made. img_5593.jpgCutting the cake. img_5588.jpgCake Topper img_5583.jpgClose up of the cake img_5586.jpgGramma and Grampa
