If you are looking for a handbag that is fun, fashionable and just a bit different, be sure to check out Karen Wilson Handbags. I am in love with all of these and would have a hard time picking just one. I love the colours and the shapes of these handbags.

Fashion Thursday – Fascinators and Veils

Thursday, February 5th, 2009

I was poking around on Offbeat bride the other day and came across a link to this incredibly talented woman who creates fascinators and veils. I just have to say WOW and where can I go where I can wear one of these??

If you are looking for an alternative to the traditional veil, you might want to consider one of these. I wish I saw these 12 years ago when I got hitched. So beautiful.

Neat Stuff Tuesday – Art Groupings

Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009

I thought I would share a few groups of art that we have in our house. The merchandiser in me always wants to arrange things and make them look neat. It’s pretty easy to create an interesting group of photos or art. We usually try to have a theme, like kids, animals or similar colours or textures. It looks better if you have an odd number of items in your group and I usually try to keep the frames all the same colour. First, I lay the elements out on the floor, until I’m happy with the arrangement, then I recreate it up on the wall. Hint: Sometimes I take a quick photo with the digital camera of my arrangement in case I get mixed up as I’m hanging them.

Here’s a grouping of photos of our crazy kids, my husband as a kid and some of our letter collection.

photogroup2

Here’s a grouping of elephants and an rhino. Rich took the elephant photo and did the rhino drawing.

This grouping is kid photos, a drawing Aidan did when he was little and a painting Rich did. This grouping used to have a painting Aidan did where the leaf painting is but it appears that Ronan was doing some rearranging.

Try it out. You can start small with just a few pieces or you can do a whole wall.

Fashion Thursday – Not-White Wedding Dresses

Thursday, January 29th, 2009

Not everyone dreams of the white wedding dress. Not everyone looks good in white either. I thought I would show some photos of some cool not-white dresses. Being someone who doesn’t look so great in white, I wish I had thought of wearing a pink dress when I got married. Enjoy.

Fashion Thursday – Cool Wedding Rings

Thursday, January 22nd, 2009

I was reading the Intimate Weddings blog today and I saw this post about some amazing wedding rings. I am so in want with these.  You put your fingerprint on his ring and he puts his on yours. That is such a sweet idea. I know if I was to get married all over again, I would want something just like this.

These were designed by Camille Hempel.

These super cool wedding bands were designed by Toronto designer Kim Drosdick. I love these ones too!

Fashion Thursday – Funky Wedding Footwear

Thursday, January 15th, 2009

If I were getting married again, I think I might wear my pink Converse sneakers underneath my wedding dress. Did you or will you have something funky on your feet for your wedding? Let me know in the comments.

Fashion Thursday – Hip Handbags

Tuesday, January 6th, 2009

Recently I was in a store in London (Ontario) called Over Her Shoulder. It’s a whole store dedicated to one of my favourite things… Handbags! I could spend hours in there just looking at all of the different handbags. I saw some bags from Harveys and thought I would share. Very cool, handbags made from seatbelts. I’m sure they would last forever! If you are ever in London or Port Perry, be sure to stop in to Over Her Shoulder.
